Review While watching an action movie, the last thing that I will think about is that so many Western movie makers try very hard to copy Hong Kong movies style. Besides, I should also mind you that according to some sources, Jet Li was apparently supposed to be the star of this Canadian (?) movie. Obviously, I'm quite sure that this movie will probably creates a division between Asian cinema purist and hard-core action movies fans, but after all, the movie is still worth watching for the action scenes despite the flaws in the story line. Obviously, when you just read The Art of War's sypnosis, you might have a foreboding that the script itself has a lot of potential. I think that it should be said that the script sustains your interest for the movie very well by using all the ingredients that makes an espionnage movie very good. Unfortunately, because of his or her clumsiness, it is so obvious that the script writers didn't even know how to end this movie in a very impressive manner during the moment where Wesley Snipes' character find the people who are behind the assination of the Chinese ambassador. After all, even if we don't have what we want with the script, we probably have it with the action scenes which are all very fine. Speaking about the end, it is so absurd that we really wonder why we took the decision to watch this amateurish espionnage movie. |
