laptop lcd screen turns off

hi everyone, recently, i've experienced trouble with my laptop; my lcd screen goes totally black. windows loads and everything when i connect the laptop to a monitor but the screen itself is blank. i updated my video card drivers and the bios but it doesn't seem to help. sometimes, it just goes back on by itself. some sites say its because of some kind of connector in my lcd screen. any idea how to fix that by (safely?) opening my laptop? ______________________ hai |

I had a similar problem with mine, but my company repaired it. Hope your warranty didn't expire. I just had mine sent again because the rim surrounding the screen is loose

This happened to my desktop LCD screen a year or 2 ago. Turns out the backlight burnt out. This might be what's happened.
