Once in a month, I will make my personal literary recommendation if I do have the time to do it, obviously. Speaking about the realistic, psychological and romantic novels, I will suggest you to read these novels (ok, you're not being forced!!! And there's no particular order):

Recommendations
Madame Bovary, from Gustave Flaubert
The Catcher in the Rye, from J.D. Sallinger
Beyond the Illusions (Au-delà des Illusions), from Duong Thu Huong
Norwegian Wood (La Ballade de l'Impossible), from Haruki Murakami

The main flaw of Flaubert's Madame Bovary is its descriptions that are often too long and redundant. However, the book must not necessarily be judged with today's literary convention. Therefore, we must understand that long descriptions were once favoured by literary critics in the 19th century.

Other recommendation:
1- "The Whirlpool", from Jane Urquhart
2- "The Art of War", from Sun Tzu
3- "The Attack" (L'Attentat), from Yasmina Khadra
4- "The Quiet American", from Graham Greene
5- "The Crystal Messenger", from Pham Thi Hoai
